How do I change an email address in Pleo?

If you need to update the email address on your Pleo account, you can do it directly in Pleo (no need to contact Support).

Who can change an email address

Admins can change:

  • Their own email address
  • An employee’s email address

Admins can’t change another admin’s email address — each admin must change their own

Change your own email address (admins only)

  1. Go to Personal account settings
  2. Click Edit next to your email address
  3. Complete the passcode verification
  4. Complete the MFA (multi-factor authentication) verification
  5. Enter and confirm your new email address (copy/paste is disabled)
  6. Check your new email inbox for a verification email
  7. Click the verification link within 24 hours

Good to know: Your email won’t be updated until you click the verification link. If the link expires, you’ll need to restart the flow

Change an employee’s email address (admins)

  1. Go to People
  2. Click the employee to open their side panel
  3. Click Edit next to their email address
  4. Complete the passcode and MFA checks
  5. Enter and confirm the new email address

The employee receives a verification email at the new address and must click the link within 24 hours.

While the email change is pending

Admins can:

  • Cancel a pending email change (only before the employee clicks the verification link)
  • Resend the verification link
  • Send a new link if the original link has expired

Key things to know

  • The change only takes effect after email verification (the link expires in 24 hours)
  • MFA settings stay the same after an email change
  • If you see a “try again in 24 hours” message, you may have hit a rate limit. Wait 24 hours and try again.
