Phishing troubleshooting

Phishing is a type of scam where attackers try to trick you into giving them your personal or financial information, like passwords, card numbers, or login verification codes.

If you've clicked a suspicious link, replied to a text, or shared any details, you need to act immediately to secure your account and cards.

Take these steps immediately

  1. Freeze the cards
Freeze any physical and virtual Pleo cards you have. This prevents any unauthorised spending. You can do this in the Pleo app or web platform by accessing Cards and tap Freeze card.

  2. Change your passcode
If you used your Pleo passcode on the suspicious site, you must reset it straight away:
    • On the web platform, enter your email, click Send reset link and follow the steps.
    • On the mobile app, enter your email, click Forgot passcode and follow the steps.

  3. Log out of devices
If this is your own account, check for your added devices and log out of all devices. This ensures the attacker cannot access your account if they gain your login details.

  4. Review recent account activity
Check your account and look for any suspicious transactions or any suspicious users. If you notice any fraudulent transactions:
    1. Select the fraudulent transaction
    2. Click on the 3-dot menu in the top right corner
    3. Select Report fraud transaction

  5. Contact us
Reach out to the Pleo support team immediately. We'll secure your account and guide you through the next steps.

After you've secured your account

Once you've contacted us and secured your Pleo account, we also suggest you do the following:

  • Report the message
Report the suspicious message (email, text, or phone call) to your mobile carrier or email provider. For text messages, you can forward the text to their spam reporting number (if supported).

  • Delete the message
Once reported, delete the message to avoid accidentally interacting with it again.

  • Keep your eye out
Be extra vigilant for any signs of card fraud and phishing attempts in the future.

  • Follow the progress
You can follow the progress of any major service incident on our status page: https://status.pleo.io/

Remember

We will never contact you to ask for your Pleo passcode, card information (like the full card number or CVV), or login verification codes.
  • Never share this information with anyone.
  • Reach out to us if you're ever unsure if a message or call is genuinely from Pleo.

Please only use these websites: pleo.io and app.pleo.io
